Ben Brough Studio Visit.
Costa Mesa, CA.
July, 2010.

Ben Broughs' been locking himself away in his studio recently making new works for his upcoming solo show at The Ar4t Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA. We recently got a chance to stop by for quck hang and check out his progress. The place was covered from floor to ceiling with finished paintings, wroks in progress, sketches, books, photos, paints, pens, and a other such clutter that may form when one shuts himself away to quietly put his thoughts onto canvas.

There were stacks and stacks of works in progress all around his studio.

Business on the bottom, party on top.
Later that same day, Jesse Fulton came by and filmed a great video.

Sketches everywhere on everything.

More works in progress.

If you could only ask Ben four questions, what would they be?

Inspo board of doom.

Photos from Ben's many journeys around the world.

Mixed in amongst his art and supplies are book on mythology and ancient civilizations which are major sources of inpiration for a lot of Bens creations.

Brewski break to cleanse the mental palette.

An overflowing box of sketchbooks stuffed under the table - hidden behind the color wheel.

Be sure check out Ben's solo show at the Ar4t Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA. It opens July 31 and runs until August 15.
